The nine lessons in the “It's Your Paycheck! Curriculum Unit” are designed for use in high school personal finance classes. Pupils learn about investing, FICA and federal income taxes, checking and savings accounts, budgeting, levels of risks and rewards in investments, advantages and disadvantages of credit cards, how to calculate the annual percentage rates of loans, and how to compare the cost of rent-to-own contracts with the cost of outright purchase. The lessons align with the National Standards in Economics and include the handouts and the visuals needed for the lesson.
