Global History and Geography Regents Examinations

Collector: Ann V.

Finding tests that assess global history and geography knowledge can be challenging, but here's a resource that solves the problem. Last updated in January 2018, the exams ask scholars to analyze charts, primary sources, and graphic organizers as part of the various test questions, including multiple-choice, essay, and short answer questions. Some of the many topics covered in the exams range from assessing scholars' knowledge of the changing borders in Germany during World War II to evaluating the role of revolutionaries throughout history. Other prompts test pupils’ knowledge of the ideas of the Enlightenment, the Renaissance, the Protestant Reformation, the French revolution and to consider what philosophers have had the most influence on history. Test takers also demonstrate their ability to compare the rise and fall of several world empires, including ancient Egypt, the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires, the Mongol and South American civilizations. Other assessments cover human migration patterns, European exploration, religions of the world, and the international community's role in the challenges to human rights in Ukraine, Rwanda, and Cambodia. Although designed for the New York State Regents Exam, the 25 resources in this assessment set work well for any class studying global history and geography.
