Instructional Ideas
- Teach young learners about different test-taking strategies with the help of this practice assessment
- Discuss the answers to the test as a whole class, encouraging children to share their reasoning for the answers they chose
- Create sample essays for the class to analyze as a whole group; afterward, have students assess their own writing
Classroom Considerations
- Be sure to schedule time in the computer lab if you do not have computers in your classroom, allowing students to practice taking computer-based assessments
- The questions on the paper and computer versions of the test are slightly different; however, the reading passages are the same
- Included is a large-print version of the test meant for students with visual impairments, but depending on your printers capabilities you may or may not be able to create document this size
