Final campaigning is wrapping up in Moldova as more than three million voters prepare to cast their ballot in Sunday's parliamentary elections to choose representatives for the next four-year term of the country's 101-seat legislature.

Moldovans voted on Sunday in a parliamentary election that could deepen the split between pro-Western and pro-Russian forces in the former Soviet republic.

Moldova's pro-Russia president and its prime minister both called for support for the new government on Thursday, while supporters of the former government remained camping outside institutional buildings to show resistance.
