After a class discussion on strategies pupils can use to pre-write, learners are given a topic which they use to guide them in selecting a book to read. Everyone uses a worksheet, embedded in the plan, to write down information from the book. Then, everyone pairs up with another classmate, and they share the ideas they put down on their worksheet. When enough information is gathered, they begin the process of planning, organizing, and composing their writing pieces.
