Instructional Ideas

  • Have pupils create a short presentation about the career or job cluster they've identified as a match for their interests
  • While they research, ask scholars to identify at least one college or trade school that specializes in their careers

Classroom Considerations

  • Substitute a more global online job family search tool for the state-specific resource in the lesson plan

Pros

  • Students are very autonomous during the lesson, performing a self-assessment and using the results to guide their career research
  • Helpful teacher resources make it easy to launch the lesson, then mingle and check on everyone's progress

Cons

  • None
