A day off from work to celebrate...labor? Find out why on the first Monday of every September, Americans and Canadians celebrate Labor Day. Viewers will learn about the unique history of the first Labor Day, in which workers not only gathered to rest and celebrate, but also organized themselves in protest to demand fair wages, the end of child labor, and the right to organize into unions. Viewers will then be guided through significant events for workers throughout the twentieth century in the United States, including the Haymarket Square Riot and Great Depression.
