Skyscrapers are amazing feats of architectural design that create the iconic skylines of the world's biggest cities. Young architects explore the defining characteristics of these monstrous towers with the first instructional activity in this four-part series. By looking at pictures of different structures, children learn to distinguish between those that can be classified as skyscrapers and those that are just big buildings. Include this instructional activity series in a social studies unit on the industrial revolution and or as a part of an architecture unit in an engineering class.
