Instructional Ideas

  • The directions for how to compute the average times for activities may confuse some learners; therefore, model for the class how to compute the average time spent on each weekday and each weekend activity
  • Assign the timesheet a week before conducting the lesson so that class members have their data for the activity
  • Add to the chart time spent on phones and playing online games

Classroom Considerations

  • Designed for eighth-graders but appropriate for high schoolers as well
  • Requires copies of the "How I Spend My Time" worksheet

Pros

  • The lesson causes participants to reflect on the importance of prioritizing goals that are important to them

Cons
