Why are there so many lines on a ruler? Scholars measure length on two rulers, one standard and one metric. They measure in inches, millimeters, and centimeters with the centimeter measurement including a fraction. Because these are the only two problems and they are followed by a detailed explanation, consider projecting this as an all-class warm up. Cover the answer until the class has gotten a chance to share and ask questions. Decide for yourself whether or not this explanation will be helpful for your kids, as it is very text-heavy and a bit confusing.
