It does, however, describe inherited traits vs. learned behavior, and dominant vs. recessive genes. All in all, this would be a fitting introduction to your heredity unit. Note that you may want to add the terms dominant and recessive to the key vocabulary. A fun reinforcement would be to take a class survey of students' and their parents' eye colors.
