Groups form a circle with each person's feet spread shoulder width apart and touching the person's next to them. Drop a ball in the middle of the circle. The object of the game is for players to keep the ball from leaving the circle without moving their feet and while standing. If a player smacks the ball through another player's legs, then that person earns a point. Continue playing.

Instructional Ideas

  • Ensure players keep the ball on the ground
  • To make the game competitive, have the entire class stand in a circle and play for a class champion. Anytime the ball leaves the circle, the person whose legs it went through is out
  • Challenge groups by putting two balls in their circle

Classroom Considerations

  • Any ball is required, but a soccer ball works best
  • Sizes of groups do not matter
  • This video is hosted on YouTube

Pros

  • Promotes more efficient reaction timing and ball handling skills
  • Great to use as a warm-up

Cons

  • None
