Build background knowledge for The Book Thief by Markus Zusak while teaching your pupils how to determine the credibility of online sources. The plan is designed to take place over the course of two days. On the first day, model how to analyze a site and ask small groups to work together as they search. On the second day, send individuals off with a graphic organizer to research the 15 predetermined topics related to the book. After a pair share and a whole-class share, pupils should have a strong understanding of both online credibility and the Nazi regime.
