How many ducks? Counters practice representing images with numbers. Because answers are written in, consider projecting it for a whole-class warm-up or skills practice. Learners examine a set of eight ducks, writing the numerical form. Then, an explanation shows how to solve. Next, they observe four sets of cupcakes and circle the one with nine. Again, a brief explanation gives the step-by-step of solving this question. While the explanation text probably won't help learners at this level, the visuals may be useful.
