Third graders complete a variety of reading and writing activities related to the book "Flat Stanley." They create an illustration and write a short summary for each chapter, and write a letter and send a "Flat Stanley" to a friend or family member. Students mark a classroom map with pins to identify where their letters are going, and create a class bulletin board of the letters sent to them by their Stanley recipients.
