Three activities introduce upper elementary ecologists to photosynthesis and food webs. In the first, an experiment is set up to determine how plants respond to different types of light. In the second, they connect organism cards with yarn to model a food web. In the third, they research where their food was grown and place pictures on the corresponding places on a map. These activities can serve as the backbone for a unit on ecology and the nicely written lesson plan will leave you well prepared.
