Your learners combine their knowledge of real and imaginary numbers and matrices in an activity containing thirty lessons, two assessments (mid-module and end module), and their corresponding rubrics. Centered on complex numbers and their transformations, the three topics focus on linearity, operations on complex numbers and their geometric effect, distance, trigonometry, and the geometric effect of multiplying by a reciprocal. Complex arithmetic is simplified by exploiting its connection to trigonometry, and thinking of complex numbers as points on the rectangular plane, learners begin to write formulas for rotations and dilations in the plane as well as start seeing how video games and geometry software perform rigid transformations.
