Big6 Research Project

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet
This Big6 Research Project lesson plan also includes:
  • Research Guide
  • Self Evaluation Rubric
  • Peer Presentation Rubric
  • Tree Map
  • Join to access all included materials

Do research projects at your school look like a class of eighth graders staring at a blank screen? Use the Big 6 research method to guide middle schoolers through the process of finding a topic, searching for and evaluating sources, locating relevant information, and synthesizing it all into a multimedia presentation. The unit plan also invites peers to assess presentations they've seen, and to judge the information-gathering process itself.
