Correlate education with unemployment rates. Individuals compare state and regional unemployment rates with education levels by calculating the correlation coefficient and analyzing scatter plots. Pupils begin by looking at regional data and move on to state data. The design of the task walks class members through the process using the regional data and then allows the class to work on its own for selected states.
