Twelfth graders rewrite a story in a different format to understand the effects of the author's style. In this writing style lesson plan, 12th graders read Mark Twain's "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" and rewrite the elements of the story in a different genre. Students work in tiered groups to complete the writing format lesson plan and write their versions in a newspaper format, journal format, or letter of complaint.
