Wishful Thinking—Does Linearity Hold? (Part 2)

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Trying to find a linear transformation is like finding a needle in a haystack. Instructional Ideas
  • Have the class create a function and find values that will make the linearity tests true
  • In preparation for the next lesson, organize groups to create a list of functions they believe are linear transformations
Classroom Considerations
  • Class members should be able to convert from radians to degrees and vice-versa
Pros
  • The answer key has possible solutions that the pupils may include in their responses
  • The teacher notes give suggestions on how to differentiate the assignments
Cons
  • None
