Fair or unfair? To begin a study of the American Revolution, class members review the treatment of the people of the American Colonies by the King of England and decide which were fair and which were unfair. Class members then annotate a copy of the Declaration of Independence, noting complaints against the King and American ideals found in the document. Finally, 5th graders investigate how these ideals are manifested in their daily lives.
