Students discover how a paleontologist digs up fossils and what tools they use.  In this paleontology lesson plan, students discuss the importance of the job of a paleontologist, watch a video on the process of extracting fossils, and pretend to be a paleontologist by extracting chocolate chips out of a cookie.  They wrap up the lesson plan by writing a journal response of their experience.
