Here is a strategy for groups to contribute to whole class vocabulary development. Teams (based on seating rows) work together to look up dictionary definitions of words from upcoming sections of the book (though previous sections seem to make more sense) and devises an original definition connected to the word's use in Call of the Wild. You compile a list as each group shares out for future reference in class discussions as reading progresses. A printable worksheet with 25 words listed provides structure.
