Concepts

yoga, valentine's day, love, the heart

Additional Tags

physical education

Instructional Ideas

  • Have younger class members try the yoga poses individually before trying the sequence
  • Prompt class members to finish the activity with a short writing session about other things that open their hearts

Classroom Considerations

  • Does not provide diagrams or instructions for the yoga poses, so you will have to show class members each one goes if they are unfamiliar with yoga
  • Be sure to guide participants through safe breathing and stretching procedures to avoid injury

Pros

  • A nice addition to a yoga class for Valentine's Day, and a sweet way to integrate relaxation into your mainstream class

Cons

  • No cautions are included that would guide participants through safe breathing and stretching procedures
