United Nations Cyberschoolbus: Indigenous Peoples

Students can explore the cultures of various indigenous peoples around the world, e.g., the Maya of Guatemala, Amazon tribes, the Maori, the Navajo, and the Saami in Norway and Sweden. They will examine what it means to be indigenous and why it is important to formally recognize indigenous people through legislation. Teaching activities are suggested in each section.
