Students explore the components and meaning of philanthropy. In this community awareness instructional activity, students are able to identify and research agencies and organizations that provide services to children in need, compare and contrast philanthropic efforts and define philanthropy and its relationship to homeless children by reading case studies, finding local agencies, visiting a philanthropy group and creating a graphic organizer over their findings and personal journey.
