The Rights of the Child

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Students create a set of rights that promote safety and tolerance at the school site. In this Bill of Rights instructional activity, students read the U.N. Declaration on Rights of the Child. Student presenters lead a discussion of these rights and have groups select four to five rights to share with the class. Classes select five to ten rights from the list. Class suggestions are brought to a United Teams meeting to create the final Bill of Rights for display.
