Can the world become a kinder place? The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation has a multitude of ideas for changing the world one step at a time. Authors list 100 "Ideas for Kindness" that range from "Give the Gift of your Smile" to "Host Special Programs or Speakers at Libraries or Bookstores." There are specialized lists that cater to communities, cooks, faith groups, families and neighborhoods, and gardeners. Topics include kindness to animals, concern for the environment, the mentally challenged, the physically challenged, and those who are incarcerated. Students can also peruse the kindness acts being performed in their own states. This is an excellent website to use for character development in the classroom.
