Instructional Ideas
- Provide several circles with diameters to measure and calculate the ratio of the circumference to the diameter
- Lead a discussion on when it is best to use the fraction or decimal approximations of pi to assist with the computation
Classroom Considerations
- The modeling exercise requires a bicycle wheel
Pros
- Contains a modeling activity that holds learners' attention
- Includes diagrams to provide a visual to the class
Cons
- None
