Instructional Ideas

  • Use in an environmental science class or during a biology unit on animal taxonomy
  • Have pupils turn their studies into a short story on producers, consumers, and decomposers

Classroom Considerations

  • Assumes that learners have seen a stage production of The Jungle Book, but a viewing of the 1967 or 2016 film (or class reading of the novel) would suffice
  • Relies on prior knowledge of animal classification and the food chain

Pros

  • An excellent way to create an interdisciplinary unit
  • Involves engaging theater activities that are applicable to any subject

Cons

  • None
