The Hundreds Place

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Break up numbers into place value to help your scholars comprehend three-digit numerals. There are three problems here, and the large text and visuals make it ideal to project as an all-class warm up. Learners first identify the value of the hundreds place in a given number. Then, they write a two-digit number in expanded form. Finally, pupils determine which of two sets of base ten blocks represents 326. Challenge them to also identify what value the other set represents.
