Instructional Ideas

  • Assign the worksheet near the Presidents' Day holiday or when your class is investigating United States presidents
  • Attach a separate sheet of paper, or offer learners the chance to type their essay, if more space is needed than what's provided by the second page
  • Encourage peers to share their essays and respectfully debate their decision

Classroom Considerations

  • Pupils should be familiar with how to write a persuasive essay
  • Presidents' Day is held on the third Monday of February

Pros

  • Includes a website to visit and gain information about each United States president
  • Allows class members to choose the fourth president to research and compare

Cons

  • Although designed for use by learners, the introduction does not seem to speak to them, but more teachers
