Texas Instruments: Numb3 Rs: How Reliable Is the Test?

Based off of the hit television show NUMB3RS, this lesson shows students how conditional probability can be used in the real world and can, in fact, impact them. The lesson is framed around drug users and drug tests (namely, steroids). Students are to find probabilities for tests returning false positives and false negatives, and explore such probabilities given the reliability of the test being performed.
