Tens and Ones Guided Lesson

Understanding place value will open up a world of math comprehension for your learners. There are three parts to this learning exercise, all with the objective of revealing the decomposition of numbers into tens and ones. First, scholars examine an image of counting cubes, recording how many tens they see and how many ones. They complete the number sentence to find the total. Then, learners complete a chart, breaking down five numbers into tens and ones. Finally, they write in addends (one 10 and a single-digit number) to complete an addition problem.
