Here is a way to build your pupils' public speaking abilities. The lesson describes a reader's report chair, which is used each week by a student who has just finished reading a book. The featured reader sits in the chair and talks about some favorite aspects of the book: characters, setting, writer's style, or illustrations. After giving a summary of the book, he/she reads a favorite passage to the class. A nice idea, and a good way to give your kids practice speaking in front of the class.
