Students explore channelization, riparian habitats and soil erosion to find out about  the aquatic habitats in Iowa. In this aquatic habitats lesson plan, students define important terms and read an article about pollution.  Students complete an experiment to compare and contrast two streams: an agricultural habitat and a natural one. Students write to local officials about cleaning up pollution.
