The third lesson in the Building Confidence module focuses on healthy habits. Middle schoolers engage in activities that underscore the need for a healthy diet, daily exercise, and a good night's sleep. They create customized food and exercise plans and keep track of their progress on an Action Plan worksheet.

Instructional Ideas

  • Enlarge and color-print the MyPlate graphic and post it in the classroom
  • Ask class members that practice yoga or tai chi to model some of the exercises or forms
