Personal correspondence in the form of letters is not as common as it once was. This resource presents an opportunity for you to introduce your class to letter writing and cover topics in social studies. Learners read a letter written in the nineteenth century and analyze the text before completing letter writing worksheets and exchanging their work with a partner.

Instructional Ideas

  • Use the letter template with the lesson or on its own during another lesson or activity

  • Comes with a template for letter writing and worksheet
  • Cross-curricular plan covers topics in social studies and language arts

Cons

  • None
