Spangler has a fourth grader join him in this segment. Her science fair project was a demonstration of how biologists cleaned up the birds and other wildlife that were affected by an oil spill. Amazingly, it's as simple as using soap! The girl shows how soap, when added to water and oil, serves to separate the oil molecules from what they're adhered to, making it possible to remove the oil from the animal.
