Shoes: Practical vs. Fashionable

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Pupils compare and contrast the difference between practical applications of apparel and the use of fashion as a status symbol, with a focus on shoes. Working in groups, they complete a Venn diagram comparing practical fashion to status fashion. At the conclusion of the activity, students design their own shoe based on their personal belief about apparel.
