Serc: Scientific Observation Activity

Curated by ACT

For this structured exercise, learners are asked to observe the world around them and make an observation about any sort of process they see. They then ask a how or why question about their observation, and follow that by three or more observations. Next, they try to answer their question (creating a hypothesis) and support it with evidence. After that, they think of two more hypotheses to deepen their understanding of the process. Includes a handout for students.
