Instructional Ideas
  • Write transition words on index cards to place onto the pocket chart as a reference, such as first, next, then, last, and finally
  • Instruct pupils to write a sentence that matches each sequential picture
  • Copy and laminate sequencing cards on card stock paper for longer use
Classroom Considerations
  • Resource suggests purchasing a pocket chart, but it is not required for performing activities; consider using your own chart, or stick cards on the board with magnets or tape
  • Illustrated sequencing cards can be used in any language
  • Great resource to include involvement and participation from parents
  • Fun lessons are engaging for children
  • Sequencing word cards are not provided with resource
