Pupils say the /j/ sound, following teacher modeling and review words beginning with the sound. In this phonics activity, students select the letter j each time it appears in a set of 12 letters and practice saying its sound, remaining silent when another letter is pointed out. Pupils continue practicing the sound and letter recognition in this way.
