Instructional Ideas

  • Set up small groups in your class and have them play a few rounds together to review for a quiz or just reinforce the concepts
  • Once individuals, partners, or small groups are finished, ask them to write a few sentences using the nouns and pronouns they identified in the game
  • Since the set includes both subject pronouns and possessive pronouns, make two sets of these materials; the same nouns can be used in each set

Classroom Considerations

  • Designed for elementary standards, this game could be used for review through middle school
  • This is part of a series of exercises that focus on all types of pronouns

Pros

  • While this is a fairly straightforward memory and matching game, there is a lot of potential for application and engagement in the material

Cons

  • Answers are not included
  • The game mixes subject pronouns and possessive pronouns in a way that may be confusing for learners
