In this problem solving lesson plan, students use dots and symbolic analogies to solve problems using the IDEAL problem solving method which includes identifying the problem, defining the problem, exploring possibilities, acting on the possibilities and looking for the desired results. They use this method to find the amino acid sequence for a protein.
