Philosophy - Jacques Derrida

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Deconstruction, aporia, and logocentrism. Three terms used by Jacques Derrida to describe his key ideas, marked a pivotal change in philosophic thinking. Introduce viewers to Derrida with a short video that deconstructs his rejection of duality, the tendency to see things as either/or, and to valuing one concept over its opposite. Rather, Derrida urged that we should find value in considering diverse thinking, to be proud to be confused, rather than settling on easy answers.
