Students participate in various outdoor science activities to enhance their observation, classification, and analysis skills. In this outdoor lesson, students begin by observing a tree from a straightforward angle, then from the perspective of lying on their backs, in order to compare the different images they see. Students create artwork depicting what they observed, keep a field journal of their observations, or sort and classify the various objects they have observed.
