Using numbers with varying units (money, length, volume, distance, weight), scholars put each set in order from least to greatest. There are five numbers in each set, and they are all whole numbers with units attached (numbers in each set have the same units). Debrief afterwards, asking kids if units change relative order. Were they looking for significant digits in larger numbers? Numbers in the sets get up to eight digits long. There are 11 sets total.
