App Overview

The Number Line app helps you learn about fractions, decimals, and percents by ordering them from lowest to highest on the number line.

You are given a mixed collection of fractions, decimals, and percents, and you place numbers in order. As you move them to the correct spot, the numbers turn green, and when you are incorrect they turn red and are rejected at that spot.

Levels increase during a play session:

  • Fractions increase in difficulty
  • Percents over one hundred are included
  • The overall number of values that need to be placed increases

A bonus is added to score if completed under a certain amount of time.

Instructional Ideas

This app really drives home the idea of how fractions, decimals, and percents are just different representations of numbers, and how they can be converted and compared.

The gradual increase in difficulty of the app allows for many pupils to feel challenged, and yet successful.

Classroom Considerations

Unfortunately, you can't save your last level. If you want to stop, you need to start over. You also have no control over the types of values used. You can't restrict numbers to only fractions, decimals or percents.

Pros

  • Easy to use

Cons

  • Can't adjust settings
